old telnet bbs systems anyone?

i got bored and decided to put one up again… there is a guest account so you can check it out prior to decideing if you want to bother making an account…

port 23 telnet to 24.148.122.58

vista users must go to control panel click on programs and features and enable the telnet client… its automticly disabled on vista.
xp and older can use either telnet or hyperterminal or another third party utility for telnet…

right now its just a old style telnet log in… eventualy ill have the webserver working and it will be accesable via the web. i also plan to allow email forwarding for those of you would be interested, it simply forwards the email you get on the system to your actual email account thru your internet provider like a mail forwarding type of thing…

door games are stock for now but eventualy i plan to find myself a copy of tradewars, some of you will remember but some of you younger guys might not know what im even talking about lol but anyway the system is up so anyone that wants to giver a go feel free.

I use to be good friends with the owner of Cow Land in Guilderland and ran Mit’s Playland in Schenectady, NY for a profit.

cowland… theres a name i havent heard in a long time…
backchat, nexus, bobsworld, khyronsboard, saratoga ave no wait it was electric ave yeah lol tidal wave and… shit i forgot some of the other ones…

im still good friends with the founders of backchat… funny you can still get worldgroup software… probly wouldnt work on vista though

Was Nexus out of Guilderland? Cowland competed with it. It’s funny because both were Guilderland High School students. I believe the other one was owned/run by Josh Perfetto. Very smart kid.

not sure i think nexus was run by a chick… i know backchat was run by three people… ken mcdoogal, mark strok and jason the guy you and i know as khyron on AU.
theres a girl that has the nexus forum group on myspace ill send you a link if you want it hell josh dun is even on myspace lol dono if you know who he is or not… i know alot of the bbsers were on all the same boards… i used the handle bass on all the boards and later on went to use asbury, then grimwolf for a while then went to jimmerz. i was on them all until cowland started to charge… then i think they only allowed x amount of time per day or something like that because for the logest time i would go on but never stay very long because i ran out of time lol but my parents were cheap
