“It’s a serious fracture. This will require pretty major surgery,” Bramlage said. "Keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer. His career is over. This is very life-threatening.
yeah, no shit, they slaughter most of those horses after they have reached their peak. Sad thing is this horse will probably end up in some japanese slaughter house later this year.
no, they usually use those kind of horses as stallions, they dont slaughter the good ones.
yeah they just pimp out their horses… so there can be bigger and better horses like that in the future.
They keep the healthy ones, if barbaros would of won the tripple crown he would of had the life of luxary. They would of kept him to stud and that would be all he would do. Now that he broke him self IF he made it through the sugury he will have to lay down for at least 6 months. If you wached the prerace you would of saw him jumping, running around, and rolling in the mud at the home stable. its hard to keep a horse from moving alot especialy for 6 months. this is why when most horses revieve any major injury they are put down no matter race or pleasure horse. The sad part is this horse has so much potential, and now that will probably be the last time alot of people will see him. I would love to see him recover and come back in a few months or even a year but the chances are good that he will be put down.
ever see seabiscuit, thats what they will do with him or just make him a pimp aka stud
epsn.com says they would like to keep him as a stallion but he will most likely end up as glue or dog food. the problem is with his injury he should stay off the leg for 6 weeks. but horses cant do that. so it never heals, they get depresses and ill then dont eat so they die anyways.
meh
free trip to the glue factory
elmer
they said the surgery went good & the horse will walk again but his racing career is over…
will probably be used as a stud for breeding &/or a pet.
