The Jebel Hafeet Mountain Road in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the greatest driving road in the world. Stretching for 7.3 miles and climbing nearly 4,000 feet, it boasts 60 corners and a surface so smooth that it would flatter a racetrack. It could easily be described as the eighth wonder of the world, but almost nothing is known about its creation.
The road is cut into the Jebel Hafeet mountain, the highest peak in the United Arab Emirates, the oil-rich Persian Gulf state. The mountain spans the border with Oman and lies about 90 minutes’ drive southeast of the thriving city of Dubai. It looks down upon a dusty, desert landscape that belies a nation of astonishing wealth.
Drifting is out of the equation, because regular people on regular bikes, can consistently have fun in the twisties. Drifting through a public twistie road, not so much.
they had spy shots of top gear there with 2 or three veyrons and a Koenigsegg. I’m dying to see the episode I was hoping it would air last season, I guess not though.
I assumed that Brew’s point was that Drifting > Bikes
If it came down to taking the same road in a high performance car or a high performance bike, from fun standpoint, bike would win, in a more pure experience.
Unless we are talking open cockpit vehicles, which is a whole another level of fun.
thats not a top gear episode… it’s was a feature only in there magazine… top gear noob
they will be having a tv episode dedicated to that road tho during this up coming season… with one of the same veyrons and a a slr 722, lambo lp640-4, and something else i can’t remember what it was
as for the pictures… race cars going around a corner dont “look” as much fun as drifting around a corner… LOOK!.. not saying it isn’t as much fun cause i would rather take a corner with some hard g’s and a sticky set of tires then sideways, especially on a public road
