Turbo k20:excited
Dumb in my opinion, with such a short wheelbase it would end up being a pure drag car. If you’re looking to go 10s in an MR2/MRS you have the wrong platform in my opinion. That’s what DSMs/Hondas are for lol. The whole point of going “K” (again, in my opinion) is to have 250whp+ N/A. If you’re looking for ~600whp or something with boost might as well stay in the ZZ family and build that motor for boost.

thats what im talking bout! i would love to go ITB’s but im not sure how much more of a pain in the ass that would. if its not to bad it will be considered.
i have been watching some posts over at spyderchat and there are some guys who know this platform well and they say its not to terrible to swap. one guy in chi town said he could have it swapped over in like a week. again its the interwebs but hes well respected on the form so i doubt he’s a liar. i thinks its mostly the wiring that is a pain to deal with, the motor fits very nice not a lot of messing around with that.
The k20 is a lot better than the 1zz i have, so trying to boost or build it up wont be to practical either, at least with the k20 its reliable and has way more support in the performance world. 2zz motors are on par with the k20 but harder to come by.
Another reason for me to go k20 is there are a lot of local people with honda tunning experience. this will be legit if it gets built. but N/A all the way.
You don’t even need ITBs, a good IM like the Xcessive is good for 270whp or even a little more with e85
you think an E85 tune would be worth it going N/A? ITB’s would be more of a excess want then practical! lol. plus it would be sound sex all the time!!!
on my way to work this morning i decided that i hate the shitty little motor they put in my mr2. its so under powered. at 65-70mph in 5th its sounds like the motor is about to blow up, tach is @4g’s. needs more power and a 6th gear! aka k20!
Yeah I don’t know what Toyota was thinking making the MR-S so slow, back in it’s day the MR2 SC was pretty quick (faster than an e30 M3 0-60 (and maybe in the quarter mile??) and faster than an F40 0-30 if I’m not mistaken), the MR-S is barely faster than an MR2 SC :rofl :rofl
I am getting the k series community to rally around me in stopping you from ever touching a k20 or k24
Everyone currently in the K series community will be dead by the time this happens so your efforts will be futile.
