Outdoor OTA Antenna Mounting question...

So I have my DB4 antenna via amazon at 50% off. I didn’t realize the mounting bracket was separate but no worry my old directv dish mount will actually work well for this.

However my question is directly wise how should I mount it. My address is 78 Steiner Ave, Tonawanda 14150 looking at antennapoint.com one station is the north of me and the others to general direction of Southwest at least it appears that way. It won’t be mounted at the very top of my house I am going to mount it in the back next to my Dish Network dishes.

Here are two photos of where it will be mounted.

Ugh, that DB4 is going to make the back of your house look even worse (those two dishes that low aren’t helping either).

Why not just mount it in your attic? I know it will get a little less signal strength but considering mine is in my garage garage attic which is well below the house attic and working fine I doubt you’d have a problem.

For those that don’t know, this is what a DB4 looks like:

As for aiming, forget about antennapoint or antennaweb. When you live you’re going to be aiming at towers in different directions, so it’s all about trial and error and finding that sweet spot where you get acceptable signal on all stations.

Mind filling us home antenna noobs in? Is this for over-air HD channels?

Yep. I mean, any antenna will pull in HD, but the DB4 does a REAL good job at it. It’s also pretty strong multi-directionally.

He’s got Dish Network like I do, so his DVR basically has 3 tuners. TV1, TV2 and antenna1 allowing you to record 3 things at once if you want (assuming one is on an OTA channel).

I wanted to do the attic mount but a 10yr old kid MAY be able to get into the small opening to the crawl space in the one closest (that is if i can get the stupid shelf board out in the master bedroom closet last time i tried I couldn’t)

I don’t think the dish’s look that bad there :meh: I suppose I could of had CF Hooded put them on the top roof in the rear.

The dishes don’t look that bad, but that DB4 is going to be awful because face it, it’s a very ugly piece of hardware.

2 dishes + a DB4 and it’s going to look like you’re running a broadcast station from your back yard. Get some skinny friend to go up in the attic.

Meh just rather mount it outside and let me neighbors who don’t do shit to there homes look at it (well except for the old couple behind me they actually have a nicely kept yard and house. When I sell take it down :snky:
