Outrageous Repair Costs

I thought the bullshit on my E36 was bad- but this is ridiculous.

I scanned the thread and no where do I see a link or written parts price sheet.

lol @ 18k hood though.

…Seriously?

What make this thing soo special?

Holy. I’d have to hire a bouncer to watch it if i owned one.

If I had to guess?

  • SVT and Shelby announced that 1,000 40th Anniversary Editions will be built for the U.S. in 2008, with another 571 units in 2009. This 1,571 production run matches that of the original 1968 GT500KR.

  • The Shelby GT500KR features a carbon composite hood with scoops and hood pins

  • The 2008/9 GT500KR draws on styling cues from the classic 1968 “King of the Road” GT500KR model, and the 2008 model includes “40th Anniversary” badging; both years will have availabilty of standard GT500 colors with “LeMans” stripes, and Carroll Shelby signature embroidered seats.

  • The quintessential version of the 2008 GT500KR was the silver painted model with Vista Blue “LeMans” stripes. This was the scheme featured on the U.S. car show circuit.

  • The GT500KR is featured prominently in the new Knight Rider television series on NBC. One of the main characters of the show is KITT, an advanced Artificial Intelligence housed in a GT500KR. Also, in the return of the show, KARR is also a GT500KR.

:dunno:

I think it’s pretty damned ridiculous, but until I see POSTED prices somewhere I’m having a hard time taking the internet gospel without any salt.

That being said, go outside. Do something. Enjoy the “indian summer” like I’m about to.

18K for a hood is ridiculous… but I guess i could see a slight mark up on these kind of prices… e46 CSL’s actual OEM parts are impossible to get a hold of if they are taking that route… so much that you can’t order them at all.

There are a few places that you can get everything from the rear diffuser to the intake plenum… You have to just know where to look :pedo:

Later on in the thread it says that the hood is actually $23k shipped to your door.

And the claim that you have to ship back the broken parts that are being replaced…

Seriously, its just a Mustang…

And still slow.
