i finally get called back to work, so we needed to make arrangments for daycare. after some quick math,

11.50hrx 40 hrs = 460.00 per week before taxes

daycare x 5days = 276 per week

it’s not even worth me going back to work, my take home would only be around 100 bucks a week if i’m lucky.

there is a state funded child care subsidy…they will tell you there is a waiting list but its only a month. you will qualify w/ that income. the number is 412.246.4540 you will pay 200 a month instead, and you pick your childcare.

we won’t qualify wife makes to much

we need a cheap nanny/babysitter

my co-worker pays $811.00 a month for one child for day care in the north hills…

you’re lucky out there!

Wow that is high, I guess I am lucky that my retired parents live close so I can take advantage of free childcare when the time comes

how do you figure he is paying more… his was per week not per month.

I think all fingers point to the 5Ltr Eater :frowning:

don has 2 kids.

Oh I didn’t know he was figuring both kids, I thought that was per kid.

three kids, the baby goes full day, matthew goes half day to kindergardenhalf day to day care, and buddy we can pay by the hr. only about 9 bucks for the hr he will be there after school.

wow, I didn’t know that was that high. I’m glad my wife gets to stay at home during the day with the kids.

good luck

I’m glad my wife can stay home too… :stick:

Just kidding honey… :hitit:

i think i’m gonna get a job working 2nd or 3rd shift somewhere. maybe UPS or LeNatures.

forgot about the youngen…

off hours job would be nice for daddy to stick around the house with the kids… kinda sucks to change around your sleeping schedule though.

best of luck!

yep… that pesky sleeping schedule always gets in the way…

daycare is PRICY!!!

most reputable places are about $800 a month
Univ of Pitts is one of the cheaper ones in the oakland, shadyside, sq.hill area & its like $780…but the waiting list is like 1yr.

our son will be going in June, but he will be going to where my wife teaches kindergarten so we’ll be getting a discount…but i know exactly what you mean.

babysitters/nannys are not cheap either…your still looking @ 8-12 per hour which is more then $276 a week.
granted that is 1 on 1 care which is better.

all i’m saying is i doubt you’ll get a babysitter/nanny for less then $276 a week…especially if they have & are using their own car. thats like 6-7per hour…most i know ask around $10per.

I know of two guys that stay at home with the kids while the wife works. I think watching the kids is the tougher job!

my girlfriend owns a child care place (not in this area) but she loves the state subsidy babys she actually makes more from that then individuals… its one hell of a business to get into the money is great be a stay at home dad and advertise in a mag or threw flyers to watch others kids you will get more money that way then working and opaying for child care

Watching kids is hard work… because you’re not just sitting on your ass… your cooking… cleaning… and so on.
