If only it was as easy as it sounds. 
My one addition would be buy GOOD paint. Don’t try buying the good cheap stuff, break down and spend the money on the good stuff, from a company that you have heard of more than one time.
The other thing, buy a very good spary gun. Don’t try the cheap ones from Harbor Freight, you just end up with more work than you started with.
