holding her ankles at that… :naughty
So, would you then apply those same principles to the Republican Party’s views regarding their own candidates? I hear a lot of complaining about socialism in this country as if Obama is going to turn us into a communist state should he win the presidency. Like you, my grandfathers, my father and my family have served and shed blood for this country. They have worked hard and long hours, making many sacrifices for our family so that we could enjoy the success we do today. The one thing my grandfathers always made sure I understood, was that regardless of your personal success or your own personal responsibilities, you have an obligation to help your fellow man. It doesn’t mean giving up everything you have or giving up your success, but it does mean exercising restraint, experiencing humility and understanding that many times those who “have not”, simply need a chance to change.
Can that turn around and become negative? Sure. There are always people who will work the system, but in my opinion that is not the system’s fault. The conservative belief of “Personal success and responsibility” is an admirable one, but I believe it should also be tempered with the knowledge that often times, looking after your own self might make for a wonderful life within your own boundaries, but around you the neighborhood might be falling apart.
Just my .02. I"m voting Obama. Probably no secret by now. If he can’t bring about the change that he promotes, I’d rather fail under an educated and experienced team trying to make an honest difference, than do so under a duplicitous and divisive team who’s main concern seems to be “make it into the white house at any cost.”
So many other qualified female candidates they could have chosen instead of Palin, but they were more concerned with the superficial voter shock value of an unknown female than they were with filling a position with a qualified, experienced leader. Shame on them.
You guys need to stop reading Jason’s remarks as defending the Republican Party’s every move, it is NOT what he is doing, far from it.
Sure it’s the systems fault. The Democrats designed a system to “help their fellow man” and all it did was turn the nation into a bunch of free loaders milking the system. People aren’t grateful for welfare, they DEMAND it.
Palin needs it, hard.
Absolutely NOT throwing Jason in with the republicans, unless he declares himself as one. His ideals simply seemed to align mostly with very conservative principles. I’m not aligned with any political party per-se. I’m registered as “no party” and normally I hate politics. I also hate the fact that our country sucks in the eyes of the rest of the world, and that we’re being sold piece by piece to the lowest bidder - most of whom are overseas.
As for systems like welfare, no I don’t believe it’s the system’s fault. The system would work well if people were honest; if they used the system as it was intended to be used. People are the ones who make the decision to be dishonest. The system does not provide for it; it can only attempt to guard against it.
On that note, they should rewrite it entirely and keep malt liquor drinking degenerates from leeching our tax dollars just so they can live in low rent apartments and smoke weed.
Ah man lets not start on welfare now, this could get downright ugly.
…On second thought, lets hear it.
You are referring to FDR’s New Deal. He was Democrat but not sure if Dems were Dems then?
the question is who in office jammer or shawn???
jammer>shawn ;D

Agreeeed 100%. Sigh…
Do not start such a thread, lol. I’m sure both him and I fit nicely into the “high risk” group for heart attacks…
I’d rather race him, minivan/suv style.
My cholesterol/blood pressure/etc… is good.
