no because i did a reserch paper on it in college, gangs deffinetly affected my early teen years because i lived in the city. Homewood had a bounty on kids from greenfield because of the Irish Lynch mob, a white supremist gang. Its easy to sit up in the north hills and say that BS cause you never lived it when the gangs had the city in headlock. I never ever clamied to be a gangster or a thug or anything but i still know how it was.

speaking for myself i can’t honestly say i’d do that because i couldn’t see myself in that situation. I doubt many others here could see themselves on trial for attempted homicide either.

i’m not saying that you’d be on trial for homicide…but if you were ever in trouble for anything (running a red light, speeding, trying to get over on the IRS, etc…) you’d try to get off or get a reduced penalty…period

i feel you though cause it does get under my skin too…someone should paralize them…but that our fucked up system. Figure out how to beat it and your set.

the only part that sometimes scares me is when you hear about people going to jail for life or the death penalty & you weren’t conviced of thier guilt…

I’m 100% for the death penalty but only if you can prove they are gulity “beyond a reasonable doubt” & sometimes i’m not convinced.

within the past yr or so wasn’t there a guy who just got out of jail after like 40yr or somthing after modern technology & DNA testing proved he was inocent.

you can’t give him back that 40yrs…thats fucked up.

what i hate the most are fucking wannabe ass gangstas. when i was in 9th grade i got beat up by a group of wigger ass fucking wannabe crips in cook park in forest hills. man i feel safer in wilkilyinsburg with the OGs.

my problem with the death penalty is that its easier to get out of it if you are rich. I’m all for it but our justice system is motivated by money. I witnessed it first hand trying to get out of some small shit in court. its all about who you know and how much you got for a good lawyer.

my best friend was gang banging until the gang summit, shit pretty much died down. he was never part of really violent crew, they sold nicks and dimes and got into some fights but never the drivebys and shit the other sets in the hill were part of. he grew up and got a life outside tha hill but his little brothers are stuck in that lifestyle. They’ve had everyone under the sun speak to them but it only really works when u can convice everyone. No one wants to get out and be called a pussy and leave that sense of security. the only reason most of them were in was for protection.
Like i said my boy got a good honest life now and if he can’t convice his own brothers no one can.

actaully most of the PGH gangs stemed from LA. People came over from LA to establish drug business and thats what it was based on, that and typical stuff like “turf” the gangs of the 90’s compared to today are a joke. Today its much more about the glamor of it, then it was business and survival. part of the reason it came back in the last few years was because the LAW memebers started to get out of prison. A lot of them gotand then ended up dead from shit they said at trial.

Gangs are dumb, but for poor blacks and some whites its a way of life. The only reason i took such and interest in it is because they say you are scared of stuff you don’t know or understand. I wanted to know how it worked for that reason.
