most likely. moved back in with the parents to pay it off faster and get into a house faster.
check out the powerblock horsepower episode where they do exhaust and intake and tune and make 270-300 i was impressed… car looks awesome the black makes the car stand out nice!
fuck yea! man i love this car. thanks for the kind words. The black color makes it stand out, but it also hides the “smiley face” that mnost people hate. all the curves and lines in this car are amazing, in my opinion.
note: figured out that awful clunking noise that came from the fromt left corner after installing the BC’s. turns out that stupid me didnt check the tightness of the tops nuts on the struts/shocks before install. top left nut was super loose. it was difficult to get to but once i was able to get to it, it tightened right up. drive around the black…no more clunking. yes!!!
<3
good shit right here shows what mazdas can do with little upgrades meeting power goals on a budget ftw!

thanks man!! appreciate it!! i wasnt a fan of the new ones either, but it really grew on me. so glad i boguht this car.
Good to see another Gen2 on here. I’m in Georgia these days, but I troll now and then. I would go with Fuel pump internals if you are going to getting an AP and intake… They are like $300-350ish for the Autotech or KMDs.
Oh most definitely. It will probably go:
- Access Port
- Fule pump internals
- Intake and TIP
- CatBack and Downpipe.
stoked on mazdas!
I’m not really up on my MS3 mods, but wouldn’t you want the intake/tip before the AP?
I’m holding out for my AP and HPFP which are supposed to be on the way soon before I do a down pipe. I have just a Corksport intake and a test pipe but even that made a difference.
well with the Gen 2 MS3’s, some of the fuel pumps are retarded/innefficient and from what Ive been reading, even an intake and tip can cause the fuel pump to fuck up in certain cars. so from that “research” i feel that Id rather be able to monitor the stock car and see whats its reading, learn the ins and outs of the AP, and then install mods and know what im doing with everything.
If you have other ideas, please share.
I would wait on either side of the turbo for now. Intake and cat-back are fine, but I wouldn’t do a turbo inlet, or touch the downpipe until you have the AP ready.
I would recommend changing over to synthetic gear oil, and shifter bushing as well. Both will give you a much nicer/quicker shift feel.
Changing out all motor mounts will help out with torque steer and any wheel hop that might happen.
From there you probably want to start looking into upgrading the BPV and then getting into the intercooler and fuel pump
blah.
Things like this make me sad.
I still love the speed3s.
Im not really going for hp, so a lot of this is unneccessary in my opinion. No need to a downpip; thats where ive read a lot of issues come into play.
I want a reliable daily driver that has a bit better sound that would come from cat-back and intake with tip and maybe a test pipe. the AP would just be for precautionary measures. if i see anything worrysome, i will do fuel pump internals right away. AP would be bought before any modifications that would have any negative effects.
A Rear motor mount is on my list of things. Will probably be the next thing i buy since those can be had for $100. Just broke this month haha
Ive already done the JBR short shift plate, weight and shifter bushings. feels fantastic.
test pipe + resonator delete would probably sound awesome without the expense of the catback.
dont want to hack off resonators and shit.
besides, already bought an axle back Ultimate Racing muffler. Eventually i will upgrade it to a full cat-back with a test pipe, but after i get an AP.
why, hello!
