People With Money In the Market

Sad for sure. But I have little sympathy for greedy people trying to milk the market leaving all their eggs in the high risk basket for the vultures to pick from. America…FUCK YEAH!!!

2/3 of a nest egg in the market at 70 means they were either ignorant or stupid.

2/3 of a nest egg in the market at 68 is stupid. if that was the case, 2/3 in at 70 is a necessary evil.

What are the alternatives. CD pay next to nothing, bond pay little. Equities are always the way to go. You have to be able to ride it out. 70 is not that old anyways, it is the new 50. I diversified into FX and commodities I would like to learn T-Bond trading though just for information. Wily you might want to look into opening an account at Kitco metals broker, FYI.

Indexed annuities… ride a 75% participation in the upside of the market on a tax deferred basis, but when the market tanks, you dont lose anything… only downside is ~10 year surrender… upside is 10% penalty withdrawals each year and it IS a retirement account, you’re not supposed to liquidate it any faster than 4% a year anyway.

Things are good for me, The little bit I lose has all come back and then some

annuities can be great tools

Not ancient but an old bump.
Can anyone go into the annuity arena here? I don’t understand much about how they guarantee payout regardless of market performance?

Side question…is anyone well versed with credit scores etc…

ttt

ive been browsing some smaller companies, lookig to invest a random 1000$, anyone here have any decent cheaper stocks?

checking out some transportation companies - yrc trucking, at .54, didnt have a bad quarter, plenty of employees, max was up in the 60s years ago but who knows

still wondering how the euopean market is gonna pan out in the long run with greece’s corrupt gov’t joining the euro

If you’re looking long term with that small amount I’d say make 5-10 small lotto plays. Diversification is needed if you don’t have any set play or strategy.
JMHO

bump

whats everyones strategy with greece fucking us in the ass?

idk whether to pull out or ride out the storm

It may be more than just a storm, it may be global financial climate change. Greece getting help from Europe is not comforting because some claim the rest of Europe is “secretly” collapsing too.

Spain and Portugal are next. Just watch. My stocks are taken a beating. Probably gonna buy some gold soon.

I’m mostly out right now. Some small value positions and a bigger natural gas position. NG has missed all of the run up in oil prices and could be seen more and more as a viable alternative if oil keeps going up and or dumping into the ocean.

most of my stock is in ford and metallico, and a few penny stocks

how do you guys know to let go? when it gets below a certain point?

I haven’t looked yet but if Gold and the USD didn’t sky rocket too bad i think that decent for short term. But honestly i have much faith in how this will play out and am not going to bother trading the market right now. I will continue to let my stuff sit long until i use it to buy another house.

i would hate to see 40k turn into 5k ugh fucking greek people ahhh

short MMG, shits tanking

Charts and noting support and resistance. Allow enough wiggle room for their stop running and current volatility though.

I am speculating in natural gas.

Super ancient bump. I have less time to watch the markets now adays but still keep a finger on the pulse. How’s the “recovery” been to you guys?

I’ve been watching Praxair all the way since I knew a few people that work there. Just about back to the all time high now. Hopefully you stuck to your guns and just changed your underwear frequently as they got soiled.
