We picked up Jake (our puppy) 2 weeks ago. The animal adoption place we went through literally picked up 30+ puppies from West Virginia the day before the adoption clinic. All but THREE puppies were adopted that day- and they have been adopted since then. When we got there over an hour early there was a line out the door. We were more than happy spending the $400 on Jake, which covers his neutering and helps fund the adoption clinic.
There are families that want puppies, there are families that are too cheap to purchase puppies/ dogs. If the shelters can’t afford to keep the animals they should try to put them on CL… advertise on Facebook… do something- when we were looking we (I) looked on CL and wantaddigest every day. I guarantee they could find a volunteer or someone who would be willing to do this. I still have all the adoption places we looked at on my Facebook and look at them daily… A little effort could go a long way.
Exactly, like I said with the money some of the organizations rake in, they could staff an entire office whos sole purpose is to do what you just said.
but Im sure their are more animals than willing parties to adopt. I understanding euthanization but some effort needs to be made before putting down an animal.
