PIAA driving lamps

hi all-

Have a 2000 Eclipse with a non-aimable headlamp that’s leaving me with a blindspot. I’m thinking PIAA driving lamps in place of the old “fog lamps” is the way to go.

Can anyone tell me if their dichroic driving lamps are worth the extra $70 or so? Dichroic seems to have 35 degrees of beam pattern, the standard driving lamps, only 25.

I’m thinking this should be a pretty straightforward install, including a dash-mounted switch … a little drilling, finding or making a hole in the firewall, running wires, mounting the lamps …

Does PIAA make car-specific mounting kits?

Should I be looking at a pro install for this?

Well, the wider the beam pattern, the less intense the beam is going to be, and essentially, the beam will not be as effective as far down the road.

For the most part - no car-specific kit is needed, it’s relatively simple install, may need to take apart the dash if you want to make it really neat.

Which model were you looking at?
