Pics from Cherry Valley GoKarts 10/17

Singh was KING of the loose cart. I didn’t like it, I had a lot of trouble holding off jammer that one race. The #3 cart was perfect for me, and I really liked #11 until the chain blew on me as well. FML, that would’ve been a great race.

The #11 cart was awsome when it was running right but it kept getting that air bubble in the fuel line that caused it to go dead in some areas of the track…

that wasn’t an air bubble, thats why it never got fixed. the high speed needle of that carb was wayyyy to lean. i adjusted while i was driving on that last race, and the cart came back for me. then the fucking chain blew off! damnit.

Jesus, I spent more time drifting than racing.

yea !! wtf was with the chain, cuz he thought i went off the track, but i doubt i did, that really pissed me off :frowning: LOL

Oooooooooooooooooooohhhhh

DUDE we gotta go again sometime, maybe gpny soon cuz its cold, whos up for it and when ?

its funny cuz i hated it the first time, the second time i loved it, it was slippery but responsive throttle so it was good if u just chilled with tire scrubbing

ok ya we gotta hit up gpny anytime from when my bruises on my hips go away onwards…

let me know i want archie wayne and jammer to atleast come along

I’m more than down, any saturday or sunday really

i’m not a fan of GPNY anymore after racing at Cherry Valley, I won’t be going. You don’t get nearly the amount of track time, and the carts really don’t stretch their legs @ GPNY. If you guys are down to go back to cherry valley i am in.

+1…

Not just that wayne but GPNY are a bunch of nazis…

Someone spins, they slow the carts down…
If your riding someone to hard they slow the carts down
etc…
here he was pretty much like dont fuck the carts up were good to go…

The carts were more challenging to drive, you couldent just slam on the brakes like you could at gpny not to mention the track changes in some turns… banking/flat… tarmac/concrete…

The carts require much more skill to drive…

Plus i felt 10x more accomplished when i woke up this morning sore aas fuck

I don’t want to discourage people from going to GPNY because it’s an excellent opportunity to do low budget racing in a controlled environment, which I am always down for.

However, that being said, I am also cheap as hell and have limited time to dedicate to leisure stuff. So- since CVMP costs less, is just as close, and has a more friendly environment (not to mention you can have the run of the place instead of being told WHEN to run and with WHAT GROUP)… It just wins on almost every count. And that’s before you factor in the added challenge of the speeds that come with being outdoors.

As for GPNY, it is more professionally run and the karts are in better condition and probably with less variance / technical issues… If I had more weekends in the year to dedicate to racing, yeah you might see me indoors in the cold

But unfortunately that’s not the case so I’ll just wait for the ice to thaw, put on the gloves, and head outdoors again in the Spring. I know who to call…

Last (and best) reason I’ll be at CVMP - ‘cause I’ll be runnin’ my own $hit… And that’s REAL.

i like CVMP better as well, but i was hoping to go down in the winter sometime and im sure CVMp is closing its gates very soon…

GPNY is year round i would assume , so in the winter i would like to head up there…

@ archie, yea u got ur own kart, i say def go up to CVmp in that case, i’ll be down !!

anyhow… yeah im down in the spring of course, i was hoping to go once in the winter as well, but its whatever

Archie, I dunno what your policy is…

but if we ever go again bring your cart… I’d love to do a lap or two in that thing :tongue

I belive I should have used your when we went this time… as i have an obvious disadvantage

AKA Im fat

what happened shady? sproket fall off your go-cart?

vlad… vids!! ill watch 'em shakey. i just wanna see my sweet jump attempt

Well my kart is literally worth more than my actual car (again, not saying much here I know), so I’m more particular with what I do with it… I typically don’t give rides out, especially since I could be liable if someone were to jack up something big- probability of breaking equipment / bones etc lot higher given entry speeds into every corner.

Even if a dude weighed 300+ in a TAG kart vs. a 120 lb’er in a rental it just would not be fair for the rental guy. Over double the hp, and the kart weighs about the same.

The only thing is things happen a LOT faster in a TAG kart. Every corner at CVMP, including the esses, would require some form of lifting and/or braking. Even the left hander back onto the main straight can’t be done flat out without the back end coming loose (with good tires and a well set up kart even).

Let’s say there’s a step between GPNY and the CVMP rentals right?

The difference between a race kart (TAG) and the CVMP rental is probably at least as much of a gap, with the TAG requiring a lot more physical exertion too.

I’ve done laps in a TAG and then switched into a rental kart to take another look at the lines… It was like going from karting outdoors to an indoor facility.

VIDS DAMMIT !

and shady thats a no LOL

+1 for vids… Singh in with the short answer, I’m too verbose

Not to be a d#$@ but I just would feel bad if a person crashed the $#it for real

wordd its all good

Figured id ask :tongue

Cool man

Any fo you been to F1 Boston before? Its a indoor go kart track. Its expensive but its awesome, they keep your lap times on a digital scoreboard. Also you have to wear firesuits when you ride haha…its a good time

GPNY has scores on a board too and unless you’re wearing pants you have to wear a firesuit too :thumb

Coo, will keep you posted though regardless when we do head up next time… :thumb
