That exhaust is going to be turbulant as FUCK. With a proper manifold, downpipe, and anything else he welded, I anticipate HUGE gains.
what is wrong with the welds? you guys fucking loving this one… he wanted me to post it and has a name here as of the other day. If he wants to come on, he can. , Never said it was of high qaulity, the materials were scrap and cost nothing. Nor did i say it was the most efficient turbo setup . This is what you get when you build something by hand with Zero dollars and you dont give a shit. Its not my car and i tell him all the time i will blow its doors in… in a friendly fashion , we’ve been friends a while and if it makes him happy and works … thats all that matters. I personally do not give a shit. The kid has gone through a lot of shit , more than most people have, and still is. He’s a good kid so keep that in mind if he does come on here. no one is swingin dicks here.
Not just sitting there on the bench maybe. A few heat cycles later, they might. Also is that turbo supported at all? If not that manifold WILL crack welds trying to hold the turbo up there.
What is up with that manifold too? did you guys cut the section off the cast manifold and weld on a piece of square tube?
I am usually not one to bash others work, but if the time and money was spent to do that, a little more time and a little more money it could have been done way better. Not saying the exhaust gasses wont go into the turbo, make boost and go from there… so I guess pretty isn’t a necessity, but the over all work I question the integrity on the work.

First and foremost, how does the inside of those manifolds, cross over pipes and all the vbands look on the inside? If you migged them, which I think you did, there is no post flow to shield the welds after they are red hot… so the welds are full of porosity. and 1200 deg exhaust temps will make those welds hate life. If they are tigged, they are HEAVY welds, way too much filler/too thick filler. So the backside of the weld on the insside of the tube are going to look boogery inside too, with excessive penetration from the weight of the weld puddle as he is welding.
Back purged? I highly doubt it. That turbo’s impeller wont last a month after being pelted with fragments of weld falling off inside, and other nasty forming naturally on unshielded welds.
If my assumptions above are correct, thats enough to make you and your friend start over and try again, for the turbos sake.
Ohh and dont ever put your welding helmet on the bench like that either.

I appreciate the CC. This kid has made me downpipes and crossovers before that have worked fine, never cracked or fell apart. I have actually had shit hanging completely from his welds and nothing has ever broke, no dingleberrys ever got sucked up.
