15.5 - 16.5 would be a very accurate real world estimate since the SS NON SUPERCHARGED car is about the same weight as the 2.2 cavalier, and it only has what RUFFLY 25 more HP and 8 lbs of tq. Plus its slinging 17 inch wheels stock compared to 16 inch wheels. I’m sure Chevy didn’t bust their asses in making sure the rotational mass stayed low with the bigger wheels.
I know I started off with some slow ones . Now 30 years later 10s are too slow . But you have to give the 4 cylinders a little . I have done some Mits EVOs that are running low 11s in a 4 door sedan .
Automatic :kekegay:
Scion. A poser Toyota. ooo…Toyota changed their gay designs, added all sorts of APC shit as factory add ons, and called it something else.
:jerkit:
man i’d take an automatic right about now, after driving 5 speeds for more than 6 consistant years. i’m just about had it with daily driving a stick and need an auto.
 Total NOOB  Doesnt even know some of us are busting his balls. chill out man, im giving you a hard time b/c my dad works for GM in Lordstown.
and umm its OBX and TYC haha.
:gives: We got decent cars (cobalts and tc’s) even tho chicks do drive our cars. :greddy:
i like teh look of TCs. :dunno: whats the supercharged one put down?
I acutally hate driving my tC out here in Arizona. So I will have to agree with you on that right now…
and we normally dont agree on a lot of stuff :blue: :eek4:
Yeah I have driven a stick for the past 5 years as well. Sort of glad I got my truck in auto instead of ordering one with a stick Like I originally wanted to. Just too much of a pain in the ass with traffic and dipshits pulling up on your ass on steap hills.
ZPI Dyno’ed a S/C tC the other day

Max Power : 195.1 @ 5500 RPM
Max Torque : 199.4 @ 4250 RPM
(NOW WITH A COLD AIR INTAKE)
Max Power : 214.5 @ 6000 RPM
Max Torque : 202.8 @ 4250 RPM
^wow…
that sucks :kekegay:
Not bad considering there was no motor work, that’s straight power, considering we have 160 at the crank, and about 135 at the wheels… a 70+hp gain? that’s auctally decent
The supercharged SS is like 205 hp. I’ve never actually driven one before. I’m a valet though, so I drive all sorts of cars. I love the 3.8’s. My dad has an '04 Monte SS 3.8 n/a. I love it when I see a Grand Prix GTP or something come up with the supercharged 3.8. I don’t know how the power band is on the s/c SS. I’m sure it’s nice. But IMO, I hate Chevy’s small car manuals. They’re jumpy as hell. Cavaliers and stuff. A guy comes in with a 6 speed 30th anniversary Z28 alot, but I’ve never gotten to drive it. I happen to like GM’s autos. Sure, the Cavy transmissions generally suck anyway, but I like mine.
The car has a very usable powerband. If you punch the gas, it redlines. Same with my Monte. I couldn’t get my moms V6 Mustang to do that if I floored it in the 1st gear slot.
Having that said, my first car was a stick. The honda that some of you may’ve seen the picture of. I wanted a stick for my first car. It was really fun. But somedays you’re just like “eff this”. When I get my fun/project car (swapped Civic, Trans Am, BMW 3 series, something like that) it’ll be a stick. But having an auto for your daily driver is the best way to be. That’s what this car is…a daily driver. A quick and IMO nice looking daily driver, but a daily none the less. So it’s quite alright.
I do like the design of the tC’s, but I’ve driven a few xB’s before, and if it’s the same powerplant for both cars…ouch. I like Celicas, but that’s my extent of newer Toyotas. Sorry.
big tach :kekegay: :slap:
GM went right w/ the Monte SS. I like that car a lot.
Dont worry I hate my car, even though my turbo finally came in for it, I’m still not stoked about it.
Aye, you say black on black, (nice color choice) i guess the other black is rims? you got any pics of your SS??
:boink
pussy
If you know how to drive a stick, you do not drift at all on a hill. I never drift back at all when driving my truck.
manual transmission>auto it’s not even close.
I like my automatic. Driving a manual is fun, but it’s easier to race an automatic… Put the go pedal to the floor and point the car in the right direction.
It’s tough and takes alot of practice to get the best out of a 14 second stick shift, let alone something moderately quick.
