According to sources, the two officers were not told by any commanding officer to be in the parking lot of 24 Karat Gold, located at 3747 Lakeshore Road along Route 5.
The duo was allegedly seen there in the early morning hours of Jan. 23. Speculation that there was some type of sexual activity that took place in the patrol car cannot be confirmed at this point in time and no criminal offenses or violation of any state or town laws were believed to have been committed.
One officer reportedly was given a three-day suspension and the other officer was handed a one-day suspension, both believed to be without pay.
