polishing WS6 wheels

once i get my car back at my house im gonna be washing it alot, obviously. anyways, i want to know what the best way to clean/polish the new-style ws6 wheels (01-02). those wheels dont seem to be a shiny as the older style, they look more like they have a brushed aluminum finish while the older have more of a chrome look. i have that Eagle 1 aluminum polish (it looks like cotton that u pull a piece of and polish with that, then wipe clean). will that work? i use it on dirtbike frames and such but will that ruin the finish on my wheels? or if someone has a different product to suggest, i’ll buy that instead of what i have. thanks.

when you get it back you can call me i will bring my stuff down and show you how to do them and pick it all up when your done!!

you can use the eagle one tear stuff on them. Wipe until the residue turns black then wipe it off. This stuff is OK but there are better polishes out there. You are right about the 01 and 02 wheels being less shiny. They look good when they are clean though. Aluminum can be a pain in the ass to keep shiny. There is a product called zoop which I guess is a sealer that helps keep the shine between polishes. You can probably google it for more info.

so that Eagle1 stuff wont strip any type of protectant coat off of the wheel then?

My father has the same wheels on his 02 WS6. We polished them with that, Mothers billet, and my favorite Gords Aluminum polish. You can find Gords online if youd like info.

cool. ill just use the stuff i have if it wont hurt it. im sure itll shine them up pretty good.

i put wax on mine, ive tried them all and they all look the same to me

yours have a different finish it seems though. they r smoother and shinier than the newer ones

Just scrub them good when you wash the car with the same bucket you use on the car and then wax them. The eagle 1 polish you have will slowly take the clear coat off. You should see my rims from using regular polish. The clear is comming off and they start to haze which equals more hard polishing to get the aluminum to look close to the clear.

now will this only work on WS6 wheels? or is it for multi-allications :kekegay:

Eagle One has cotton junk in a tin can. Works on my wheels, and you can reuse a piece 7 or 8 times. Wipe it on, the with a rag wipe it off.

ya thats prob the stuff i have…and it looks like your wheels r the same as mine too…i know itll shine them up, but im just afraid long term if itll hurt any clear coat on the wheels (if there is one…cause i know there is a clear-coat on the chrome looking older style ws6 wheels)
