And pads (search around those websites). If planning to use a 7"-7.5" pad, go with a 6" backing plate. Keep in mind that with the larger pads, a larger counterweight should be used to keep vibrations low. http://www.properautocare.com/pocacowe.html
I would start with two cutting pads, two polishing pads and one/two finishing pads. As for polish… Menzerna Intensive Polish (good polish, somewhat finicky to use in high humidity), Poorboy’s SSR2.5, Optimum Compound for cutting. Menzerna Final Polish II, Poorboys SSR 1, Optimum Polish to follow up/polishing. Of course it’s a good idea to play around with pads and polishes to fit the job.
This is a great deal. I’m not sure how many they have in the store. I don’t mind helping anybody use this if they buy it. It’s nearly impossible to burn the paint with one of these in combination with the right pads and polishes.
You could try another lowes. But not every store non-stocks the same items at the same time, or even at all. I know those specific sander’s are still a stock item @ my store, and ive got about 17 OH.
Went to go pick one up at lowes on the Blvd, nothing… and they said that the maple store had 2 left… so I went there. They had none, the computer had 2 in stock but they can’t find them. Someone must have walked out with a couple.
And when I called, the other store said they had 3 left, so when the other store said thay had 2 left, I’ll bet they are there, somewhere…
After I called, (I didn’t belive the kid) I went there ad proceeded to look around the tool dept, and even though there were none on the shelf, I found one hidden.
I Also got a nice knife that was close to 70% off.
Lowes is having some good sales/discounts/closeouts… I was seriously considering getting the toolbox that was about 40% off.
I put a couple on hold at maple/transit when I bought mine last week. Maybe they are still behind the desk by the power tools section if they never put them back :gotme:
Ive got 13 in stock (as of 3 days ago) @ 47$/ea in Rome (store 1865). And we are a pretty low volume store (30$ mill) so they should be here a while lol.
