Im looking into possibly stepping up to the PC7424.My questions is im not 100% sure in wat cases to use certain color pads.I understand that yellow and orange are cutting which should be used with a compound or swirlremover of some sort.White is used for applying polish.but the grey and blue im not sure.im just wondering which color should be used for takeing off the polish or wax?also what is needed if i want to use bonets instead because thats what ive used in the past on my orbital now.

For applying polish you can just a white pad that has very little cut. For applying wax you can use the same pad and use a microfiber bonnet to remove it. I also think black pads are good for applying polishes and waxes.
so i can just toss a bonnet on as long as i have some sort of pad on??
Yeah you’d wanna use the backing pad with a white or black pad and a microfiber bonnet overtop.
There’s a bunch of guys on here who use the PC, they must be sleeping, but I’m sure they can throw in some more advice about it.
ight thanks for the input
these vids might help

also this is a good place for research
It depends upon what brand of pads you are using. I’ve seen polishing pads range in color from blue to black to grey to white. And cutting pads in orange and yellow. Just make sure to read the description of the pads to make sure you are using them for the correct application. There are also tons of different types of pads, concave pads, flat pads, dimpled pads etc. Just choose a style that you like and I would stick to the same line. You will love the 7424 after you get used to it. Cuts my detailing time in half!
^^^^ Where have you been??
Look into getting a UDM instead. The UDM (Ultimate Detailing Machine) is more powerful than the PC … which cuts time down even slightly more.
I personally use Lake County CCS Smart Pads … and I love them! I know Zach uses the EDGE pads … and they are also very nice
LC CCS Smart Pads that I have are
Yellow-Heavy Cutting Pad
Orange-Light Cutting Pad
White-Polishing Pad
Grey & Blue-Finishing/Finessing Pad
Red-Finessing Pad
As for bonnets go … Use a lambswool leveling pad, then the bonnet over top of it. This would be used for removed a polish/wax
I use Pinnacle Polishes, as well as Menzerma Polishs. I like the Menz better, has better correcting abilitys. My favorites are IP Intensive Polish SIP Super Intensive Polish FP Final Polish
Any other questions feel free to ask
EDIT:The UDM is currently on a HUGE sale where I buy all of my products. I payed $150 for mine … They are onsale for $99.99 for a short time, and I can get you free shipping!
when is the class
i use adams pads well i use them cause i got a hell of a deal on them. i also have a PC well i think i do Kurt has had it for the last 6 months
Class?
The PC is a fantasic machine … I am not taking ANYTHING away from it. Just telling him that since he is looking into getting a first machine, the UDM is a slight step up from the PC and makes for a great first purchace!
the reason why i didnt get one was cause of the size
Size of the UDM? … Its the same size (maybe slightly bigger) than the PC … there is not a big size difference between the two.
The new Flex has a BIG size difference between both the PC & UDM though
I thought you meant this http://www.superiorcarcare.net/cyclo-orbital-polisher.html?gclid=CJfklLiBgZICFRciFQodTza29A
Mmmm Cyclo.
No … The cyclos only PRO is that they are get into areas that some others cannot. BUT … they I believe they are not variable speed, and there correction ability is very low.
The PC is much better than the cyclo!!
i do like my 7424 espically for a novice like myself
I have a 7336. AKA a 7424 with 6 oz. counterweight.
The 7424 is a great machine … Plus … even though it has some risk factor, it is minimal
Zach … Do you notice a big difference with the 6 oz. CW?
Iv been using a cheaper orbital that takes for ever.got it from advance.
what kind of risk is there??
