not only do i own a .357 but i load my own ammuniton.

what i meant was that HOT handloaded .357s are not a good choice as self defense rounds. that is why the factory loads them towards the middle of the pressure spectrum. in my own loading experience i’ve found that hotter loads are harder to control(recoil), have much louder/brighter muzzle flash and that they wouldn’t be ideal for self defense because of those reasons.

factory ammo makers have realized this and self defense rounds are almost always reduced pressure

BTW i love my taurus, it’s never given me a problem. for the price you couldn’t ask for more
