Just brought this little guy home
wow damn that is a cute puppy
Hogarth and Addison. Cane Corso Mastiff’s. Both brother and sister and 9 months old. He is about 80lbs and she is 75lbs.
scooped the 3/8ths and 1/4 inch drive super shallow sets. the 3/8 set is really shallow and has come in hand already. of course i had to buy the 9, 11, and 19 socket that they dont give you in the set…
Sig 226
i wondered about the super shallow sets. i haven’t heard too much about them though
i just picked up the 3/8s semi-deep set and got the 1/4 semi deep for free
the 3/8 semi deep ratchet-- thats a hit or miss. i wouldnt use it for everything–just as needed. the sockets themselves though are shallow enough that i can put them on a traditional ratchet and still have a smaller profile than a 1/4 ratchet and shallow socket. so if you own the 1/4 body w/ 3/8 guts ratchet, you will use the piss out of these sockets.
the 1/4 set is setup much like the gear wrench go through socket sets. once again, it is more low profile than the 3/8th setup-- but realistically places that you would use it you would be able to get a gear wrench on.
those 3/8th mids you will love. i never touch my deep/shallow set. thats the default socket. i want the 1/4 inch mid’s, i dont own them. once i pay these 2 sets off that will be my next purchase along with a power probe 3.
ordered this should be here later this week!
cool but it is missing a picture of your El Camino collecting dust next to it!!!
Wow another lift Jeff? Very nice indeed!
i originally wanted one 15mm 3/8 drive semi deep for torqshift convertor nuts. how that escaladed into me getting both sets i’ll never know. buy one get one gets me every time
I’ve got quite a bill going now. it’s been almost a whole year since i’ve been over $400
jeff - what’s the capacity on that? 9,000lbs?
yeah it is 9k capacity. it is an updated version i have now. been needing one for a while now. paid off peice of equipment recently so this was next major purchase for the year
jeff–
you installing this to go w/ your other lift, or is this replacing the old lift?
reason i ask, im about to purchase a used lift myself for the home garage. I rather help out a friend then buy off a stranger first if i can.
no i am adding to my first lift. my lift is 4 years old. i am more less growing/expanding? with higher turnover of cars anymore i find myself working on 2 cars at a time a lot of times.
i have looked at used market almost not worth it IMO. let me know and i will PM you the info for this one.
i wish i had 2 racks at work all the time…oh wait i do, and i still can’t get anything done seems like one always has a tranny on it anymore
that is what happens now i do a lot of engine swaps
they cost me money by the time i turn down lot of little jobs brakes/tires mufflers etc all the maintenance shit
yep, you need one gravy rack. you’ll be much better off with 2
i can see the need for 2 lifts. the used lift i am looking at is a rotary 2 post for $1500 installed. a shop upgraded to a heavier lift for trucks. the equipment center took it in on trade. i can swing 1500, but dont feel like paying a monthly payment to buy new–as i would be looking at 3-4k for the rack i want. This is home use garage, not a business.
thats the problem with working on cars all day-- when you go home and go to work on your own shit-- you dont feel like crawling on the floor. i basically stopped on my project car until i buy a lift. call me lazy, i dont give a fuck. im tired of it. no way in hell im crawling under a car again to mock up fuel line/exhaust etc. makes me miserable and the work takes longer.
oh, and speaking of project car—
i scored a set of 75 rabbit “small chrome” euro bumpers. they were a european/australian market bumper for 75/76. i ordered a used set from australia-- they came in today. so thats my purchase for the day.
