I am guessing you are talking about the Country Road Bob - I didn’t end up picking this one up, but the idea behind the Bob is that it is a pretty solid single speed Cross bike and Commuter. It can be setup as a Fixie, but thats not my thing. As a cross bike, more clearance is needed for bigger tires, and clearance is also needed for fenders, etc. Disc brakes allow for all the clearance in the world for these purposes.

In keeping with the homo road bike theme, here is mine. Also looking at getting a Ridley shortly, a cross bike, and possibly a mountain bike. Tonight I will be a touch over 2800 miles for the summer and I did my first century 2 weeks ago out at Bristol Mountain. 102 miles and over 11,000 vertical feet of climbing.
I ride exclusively in the southtowns. Too bad I stumbled on this thread so late in the year as there are lots of group rides that go on. Our Saturday 7am Chestnut Ridge rides just concluded so now we are going to 8am at the cafe in E. Aurora with the cup outside on the building.
