So those who work in Menands heard/saw some nasty lightning strikes today. I was In our main power substation near the exit today. The Verizon building, the old warehouse across the street and the law offices all got hit. The law office got struck 3 times in a row and I just about shat myself on the spot. We were maybe 40 yards away from it!

Lightning hit a tree or power line or someshit at a house across the street from IHOP in schenectady, and there was like a flare from the down line… and then the tree infront of the house cought on fire. shit was NUTSSS. my girl picked the perfect place to go to eat after driving thru the shit from howe caverns.

I was about 50 feet away from tht when it hit. I almost shit my pants, literally. It scared the shit out of me.

I live kinda across the river ontop of the hill in renss…The view up here was awesome. I can see out the back of the house to downtown albany, and out the front of the house towards EG. It makes for great storm watching

I was watching a storm the other day and watched a bolt of lighting hit a branch across the street and take it down. Brightest thing i’ve seen in my LIFE. Something major must have happened the next block up, they had fire and rescue out for like 4hrs with the entire block shut down. I love extreme weather

Yeah, my uncle lives in E.G. and they get some nasty storms up that way. I think it’s because it’s so close to the river.

Yeah, I live up the hill off the river and just on the crest that overlooks EG/NG. We get some good storms that roll through. The snow/thunderstorm a few winters back was one of the craziest/interesting things i’ve ever seen

I was at HVCC for that!!

I remember sitting in the library between classes on my laptop, and I was bored so I checked the weather forecast. It said “Thundersnow” for the day’s outlook. I figured it was some error with the website.

Later on as I was walking to class it was snowing and thundering/lightning. I wish I had a camera with me that day, it was absolutely incredible.
