Powder Coating Services "samples"

would you be able to match the colour of the powder to the colour of paint. lets say, the colour of the SR valve cover.

also. when you do calipers, how do you ensure that no sand gets inside when sandblasting?

mike

Hi Mike… The closet colour perhaps to the SR20 redtop would be a Fire Engine Red and I will have that in stock very shortly “week max”

As for Calipers… we do not use Sand, we Glass Bead them as well as stuffing the rear etc… Glass is no where near as rough and will not damage the caliper at all, just smooths it out.

ohh sweet i was unsure. will that be able to take care of the paint thats already on there? 2 layers VHT caliper paint…

Little Update… I’ve Coated two more sets of rims over the last week for a few people so thought I’d add to the pictures already here…

One is a set in Semi-Gloss Black… Other is a P14 Iron Glimmer “darker shade then the P4 on the previous page”

Hey Jedi.

Very nice work man I really like it.

I just had one quick question. What brand of powder do you use?

If you don’t want to let any secrets out, you can feel free to PM me. I may be interested in this.

Thanks very much and “May the force be with you, always”

Easy 8)

Hey guys… I did a set of Calipers for Theo a few weeks back but I lost the pictures I took some how, so I got him to send me over a few…

It was $30 for the set and he is doing the polishing work of the lettering himself.

Don’t forget to tell them blasting is extra (I did these myself to save $'s)

Excellent work though, I couldn’t be happier with the way they turned out.

Thanks Jeff!

Theo

how did u do the letters?

A little sanding and polishing. When it comes to letters there’s pretty much only 2 ways of doing it.

  1. Tape them off then paint

  2. Paint and sand/wetsand/polish after

I did choice number 1 when I painted my caliper’s.

what would become of the tape when you powder coat it? wouldn’t it melt and get sticky stuff all over the place?

There is a special tape for Powder Coating which will allow you to put it on the item, bake it in the oven without it melting or sticking to the item and then will peel right off without a problem.

You can use masking tape with Powder… it will however leave a slight sticky film from the glue which can be easily washed off thou.

This is a rocker cover and valve cover off a Harley… The customer was not picky so I used masking tape on the rocker and it rubs right of. The 3M tape which can with stand 450+ degrees is not cheap.

did a set of rims for a fellow son user off his S13…

this is what “Real Gunmetal” is… “everyones opinion is different thou” lol

I’m now all out of any gunmetal shade… the cost on a set of rims would be between $300-$350 “because powder would need to be ordered” if more then 1 person is interested in the same shade they could split a powder cost and lower the cost quite a bit.

Thanks

Jeff

Some pictures of more customers items…

1st one was done for Donavan Griffith of Dark Knights which is a Normal or “proper” Gunmetal shade “which has no Metallic”.

2nd is a Standard Silver Shade which requires Clear Coat and was done for a gentlemen named Cameron off Vitalmotion.

For all those Manly Men of SON

haha it says vibrant and its pink haha

that shit looks great homie…

How long does it take for this to get done? For us that have to drive abit to want this done.

3-7 days depending on how busy we are… if you are going with a powder that isnt stocked in Canada say, it has to come from the states which is approx 2 weeks itself.

Here are some BSA’s I did for a member of the Dark Knights team…
