power E-AT switch? 180sx

I have a 91 sr20det 180sx. and i can’t figure out what this switch is. If i push it to power a red light comes on but i notice no difference, if i push it to E-AT a green light comes on but i still notice nothing. I just leave it in the middle, but i’m curious as to what its for? could it stand for Electronic Automatic Transmission? but what does it do? any help? thanks

Derek

i think it controls your shift points for power or economy. but im not entirely sure either.

yeah thats what it does. if you have it on power it will downshift more aggressively when you hard throttle, and shift at higher RPM

but u should still swap to manual  fairly cheap too!

Speaking of that! what kind of work goes into a auto-manual swap? The 240sx i just picked up is auto and that is NO fun lol.

no, my 18o is standard

^^ your SR probably used to be auto. if you PM me your VIN# i can verify that in Nissan Fast.

parts that you need for an auto to manual swap are:

-5 speed transmission
-5 speed transmission crossmember
-5 speed Drive Shaft (apparently ABS and non ABS are different driveshafts)
-Flywheel
-Clutch and pressure plate
-Clutch Master Cylinder
-Clutch Slave Cylinder
-Clutch Pedal
-Brake Pedal
-Clutch hard line (unless you FEEL like fabricating hydrolic lines)
-Shift boot
-rubber shift boot and metal circle bracket (used to hold the rubber boot to the trans tunnel)

no i want to keep it standard, i was just trying to find out what that switch was for. guess it does nothing.
Thanks for the help

on your car it wont do anything, because more than likely they did an auto to manual swap before you got it
