ok, i asked this question once before, but i posted it as a tanget in another thread and didnt get any response…so here it goes again:
I have a 1998 Dakota R/T and i want tog et either a Hypertech power programmer or my ECU reprogrammed. each is about the same in terms of cost, so id like to know the pros/cons of each.
mods done/going to be done to the truck:
full exhaust (headers, high flow cat, muffler, etc)
K&N FIPK intake
MSD wires/cap/rotor
52mm throttle body spacer
shift kit (porb. not untill mid-summer 06)
well from what i have seen about the hypertech its easier to set up a new program if u add a modification…so bascially it will allow u to program according to mods…and it will make all the apporopriate adjustments to maintain max performance and reliability…as with most ecu reprogramming its a set series of perameters…and if u add a mod its needs to be sent out again for reprgramming…so personally i would do hypertech especially if it has proven results…u should email Stacy from the show TRUCKS
u kno thats actually a good idea cuz i think i remember them doin a lot of mods to a Dakota R/T once…thanks for the info!
