Background: Picked up my Sprint 6700 2/2006.
Mods: http://ppc6700users.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4485&highlight= No changes since then.
NO screen protector or hardcase. Never dropped. Exposed to dust on occasion (home being renovated).
Two Problems:
First: Software? I would have to soft reset the handset if I needed to access certain functions (though not alignment related me thinks), for example, anytime after I worked in SMS, I’d have to reboot to use IE; or after the camera was used, I’d have to reboot to connect to data service; odd little sequences as such. I’d done a hard reset 4 days ago, and re’hacked the same software as listed in the thread above. The same problems started to appear.
I did another hard reset, with intentions of RUNNING COMPLETELY STOCK for now, but now I have a hardware (?) problem…
Second: Hardware? after this hard reset, I cannot align the touchscreen. Symptoms: The sensitivity is either SUPER low and I have to tap MANY times each -or- when the tapping DOES work, I get through the sequence of 5 taps, and the alignment setup starts all over again.
As far as historical problems with alignment: As of ~3 weeks ago, the sensitivity & alignment of the screen starting causing problems. I 'd have to visit the realignment screen 4-5 times a week, sometimes more.
So, Should I try to replace the LCD / TScreen (I’ve found 2 threads regarding that via search here)?
