Presidential Debate.

Increasing tax is only a small part of the solution, the thing that MUST happen is serious reduction of government spending, they spend so freely with little to no accountability. The way things are going, with out huge reductions in spending we could all work for free and still not dig ourselves out. The national debt MUST be taken care of or we are in for a world of shit with in 20 years, and the only way we are going to do that is reduce spending and pay it down, or blow up the countries who loaned us the money before they call the loans. What would happen if China asked for a trillion Euros from us? we wouldn’t be able to pay with out printing so much money the dollar would become valueless, China would demand control over parts of the US, which they have already eluded to, thats not going to be well received but we have no choice. When the government has no explanation where half a trillion dollars goes, something HAS to be done. Currently the average American pays 50% of their income to the government, and people think raising taxes further is the answer. I am quite jaded, knowing that I personally have paid just under $200k in taxes last year and the government can’t get its shit straight - and for that what do I get that others don’t?

If we get lucky and China doesn’t demand much money back and Saudi Arabia is kind enough to let us slide a while longer, what will happen to those who have nothing saved and rely on Social Security which is paying less and less? Eventually these people won’t be able to support themselves, what happens then? We are set up for a nightmare of which the likes no one on this planet has seen before, it will make the depression look like a good time. The middle class is being eradicated right in front of our eyes and we are too dumb to slow our spending, be it personally or the government.

I agree that something has to be done.

I especially love how they vote to raise their own salaries. I say they get paid on commission on the amount of revenue that can generate that year. If they don’t make NET revenue… they get paid nothing.

Working on commission always works to entice people to do something, which is really needed now. Congress is getting too cushy, rarely meeting and getting a damn nice salary and being pampered with gifts from Lobbyists.

Commission FTW.

Hil and Obama are cutting it close.

fuck hillary

Obama’s first order of business if he is elected

sorry but the government isnt a business so the it takes money to make money mentality doesnt apply here. if the government were a business it wouldnt survive. look at Europe, theyre tax rates are double-triple ours, their universal health care system sucks, their unemployment rates are sky high. throwing money at a problem isnt a solution!

if you cant afford to have a kid why should everyone pay for your mistakes. politicians like to use statistics like so and so many americans are uninsured, and preach about how no american should go without health care. how many choose not to be but can afford it? how many have cell phones? how many drive cars worth more than 3-4k dollars and get less than 30mpg? how many have cable television with the internet? after you subtract those you will realize that there isnt really a health care problem in america. if health care is so important why do they choose those luxuries over health care. a free market health care system is far better then a government run program.

I was discussing this in class. here is my viewpoint on the healthcare “issue”

I pay for healthcare. Every paycheck, they make damn sure the health insurance gets paid first, then to me second. I dont want to be sitting next to the guy who drives a fucking hummer, is "
self employed" and gets free healthcare.

if anyone wants a fine example of free public health insurance failing, look at canada. I’ve experienced first hand what It’s like to have to go their for healthcare. next time, I’m going to pop a few advil, hold my arm bones together, and run for the nearest U.S. hospital.

Yep, you have to get onto a waiting list to see any doctor that is a specialist in his specific neiche, when in US you can have an appointment withing 15 minutes of opening up yellow pages.
