he didnt do bad, its tough to tell if he was a good president or would have been during peace time but we were attacked by terrorists and that changed alot, he wasnt terrible, just not the greatest, id take him over hillary
He brought us into a war built on lies and propaganda that is resulting in over 4K troops killed, 1/2 trillion+ in debt, and took away our civil rights. Oh, he has like 2X% approval rate. I’d guess he is probably going to go down in history as having one of the worst administrations ever.

I have a feeling that at the moment, for no good reason Americans in general are still swayed towards picking the Democrats over the Republicans… just for the sake of having something different, as they showed in election of Congress.

I am pretty sure that half of you on this forum are hard working people (or just make money by not doing shit ;D). So you make your money and the government takes a nice percentage out of it for all the programs that are available in USA (SS, MEDICARE,…). Democrats want to take more taxes and use it for Free Health Care, so you will pay for some white trash that can’t afford health insurance because he is on welfare and just too lazy to get a job, but it doesn’t end there, under republicans welfare was limited to 6 month and after that you will need to get a job or you won’t have money. Democrats will probably reform welfare so that its unlimited and we will have way more people sitting on it and taking your tax money. And don’t forget about free health care its sound like a good idea until you look into the facts. Why would you pay for health insurance when you can get it for free. Since the addition of “free health care for children” there is now 40,000 children covered by it, its for you to decide either spend money on health care for your kid or save money and let other people pay for your kids care (not a hard choice to make!).

You want an example of a country that was and still democratic. Look at USSR, it sucked because it was under Communism but if you look past that, everything is controlled by the government and that is what democracy is. Now take a look at Russia now, its Democratic and look how fucked up it is.

You seem to miss the core root of Democracy it’s coinsidental that it shares it with Democrats. You think that free healthcare will increase our taxes? How about the war that we spend I think about a BILLION on a day? Our taxes fund that war, and I can guarantee you that those Tomahawk missiles aren’t cheap. Healthcare is the least of our problems when our deficit is the worst it has ever been and the interest alone on it is insane. The last time when our government turned a profit was when a Democrat was in the office.
But at the end of the day Democrats and Republicans are the same damn thing. Lots of promises to get into Office and once in Office, letting lobbyists get the best of you and take no risks to make bills, or not come up with anything positive.
The presidents of the last Decades are useless, the old days of great names like FDR are missed.

In economics health care is an entire topic… Niskyspy is right that once too many people are being covered by government health care it will kill the economy. Once too many people are covered its just simply socialism, it doesn’t work.

The economy grows but we also go into deficit. Spending money to blow shit up is sure as hell fun, but there is no ECONOMIC GAIN out of blowing shit up.
That same job that was used to create that missile could have been used developing something positive like getting our independence from foreign oil and finding alternatives or building infrastructure. You cannot justify war by economic reasoning. Sure it got us out of depression in WW2, but right now it’s a whole new ballgame, plus we didn’t really have any choice. If was was a solution to economic problems all countries would be fighting right now.
It takes money to make money fellas, simple business law. Democrats want to increase taxes because it’s going to cost money to fix the problems we got going on now, and since our funds are tied up with war and our money is going on that, extra money has got to come from somewhere.
Don’t want to get taxed? That’s fine, but then don’t complain when everything goes downhill. You can either try to fix problems now or face worse ones later.
