progress on my motor build for the hawk.

Well i go my info back for the flow numbers for my Minin C5R heads.

lol pretty damn impressive for a stock head the exhaust is alittle week but I dont think u can ask for to much more when u can have a complete set of these heads for around 600.

I just finished flow testing a new stock L92 head. All I can says is…….WOW! What a nice part.
I’d like to publicly thank StreetnStrip for the opportunity to test this head.
The test head has casting number 5364. Here’s the tale of the tape………

Exhaust port tested without pipe (4.155” bore).

Valve dimensions:
Intake = 2.160” X 4.870” X .314”(8mm)
Exhaust = 1.590” X 4.920” X .314”(8mm)

Seat/throat diameters:
Intake = 1.870”
Exhaust = 1.355”

Volumes:
Intake runner = 260.6cc
Exhaust runner = 90.0cc
Chamber = 69.8cc

A few observations………. These heads have the best seat/port lineup for an as cast GM head that I’ve seen. Their casting precision is VERY good. The fit and finish of the valves are very nice as well. The intake port is large, especially the area above the short turn radius. The intake cross section starts at 3.1sq/in at the intake flange and grows to almost 3.7sq/in forward of the guide boss!
I’m a bit disappointed with the exhaust port flow. IMO it needs to be at least 25 peak cfm better. I’m sure the engineers at GM know what they’re objective was and they were satisfied with the final product but I think for hot rodding especially blown applications, the exhaust port needs to be improved. Looks like head porters will have something to do after all………
I understand that there is a company working on a 4bbl carb style intake, but I’ll leave the intake manifold subject for another thread.

Happy hot rodding.

Sorry spang fuck the turbo Im building my car for the spray becasue my .664 638 cam is perfect for these heads. Hehehehe i would give the other specs of the cam but Im sure with thos few numbers there and my flow numbers for the heads the guys who know what there talking about will know that the heads nor the cam is a joke. Aint that right quik? Now all I need is my intake and a block and Im ready for assembly :bigok:

That’s a huge intake runner volume!

Two stages of spray would be nice . . . :fart:

yep very stout combo for minumal money

thats friggin awsome!!! nice flow numbers, and oh ya i saw the cam card :moon:

total domination

:cool:

for who’s cam?

hahaaha idk, i saw a couple of cams and cam cards, but i know i saw his, cause i rember that lift

hahhahha that was ****

Sam do you have a rough time frame till this beast is on the road?

2999

Sweet…I’ll look fwd to it

nice sammy, can’t wait to see this run

dont hold ur breath j/k

it should be a beast!!

Most likely I wont have a motor until August hbeing I wanna run the aluminum 6.2 block. If things go right and I can get my block and get a plastic intake I should be out by september. GM has a few more goodies coming out Im just sitting back and waiting. They say good things come to those who wait so we will see :cool:

Nice man…should turn out sweet

u can read more on LS1tech me and a few other guys have been talking about these heads and tryin to get parts so one of us can finally get a motor running with these new heads.

dude, dont worry i’m still funding your project…u got some $$ comin this weekend :beer: :doh:

I am so sick of reading stuff like that. There is quite a few cheap but yet awsome setups for LS1’s and it pisses me off that I don’t have the $$ to do it. I guess when/if I ever get a decnt amoung of free cash I can get a sweet budget combo for my car. But LS1 teck is an awsome site…I just wish I had more $$$. That thread about those heads looked like those are the best bang for your buck heads you can get. sweet deal man
