even though i know the owners of PRP i barely go out there anymore, i love heading out to QCR its a little closer for me to hit QCR than PRP and i like the track better as well.
i dunno. i can rememebr clearly when prp was still keystone and my pos was still in the 15-17’s range all motor. even then, i only got 3 runs on a test and tune.
from what i been hearing, 3 runs is the norm, and heard as many as 5-7 runs on slow nights. i pretty much stopped going to the track when my car came off the road. hurts to watch. but on occasion i go.
now my only bitch–track is not open every damn day. i think frank and company would have it open every day if they could get more workers. as lets face it, i doubt any of the guys/gals who work there draw a paycheck. mostly volunteers i believe. and i doubt all of them who work there are obessed w/ cars to the point that they want to be out all night long working for free so we can run until the am.
So solution to that is-- get more volunteers so the track can be opeend an extra day a week. i’d gladly work one day to race for free another…
it would be nice to have a slick car night, and a street car night, etc etc. but thaty never works out. when you want to race, you will race.
i remember when they did the friday night racing-- i know i went up a few times to watch and people got a good amount of runs in because no one was there. so run wise is all about how many cars show. granted, some shit could probably run more smoothly, but you cant bitch at the help if they work for free.
As for tedesco’s,. i have no problems w/ them. I personally think they are allright guys, allways polite and courteous to me and i treat them the same in return. not saying they cant get shitty–as i seen some verbal shouting matches w/ some unrully peopel at eth track happen… However, i think they are doing the best they can w/ what they got. as the track has improved over old keystone days.
Another bitch-- despite the entry prices being the same as other bigger tracks on the east coast, it is no norwalk/e-town/mir etc. I’d say keep drivers fees the same, but lower spectators. As i know i dotn give enough shit to pay over 5 bucks to watch street cars race. I’ll go on the highway to do that.
I do think that they have it in their heads to make prp a premier track, or they wouldnt be doing anything at all to it from when they bought it. Just dont think their time line of work/construction is on the most demanding of schedule.
but that brings up another point-- when do they do construction at teh track? winter your fucked, and spring/summer you try to race as often as possible. so when do you close for renovations?
thats my rant for now.
