yeah total bullshit. and really fucking retarded.
-supercore processor
-xtremely hot
-water cooled with a ton of fans as well…
-5 gigs of onboard ram
-cpu has 10 onboard
-having trouble getting it under a 1000 dollars
in fact if you believe him
It leads me to consider how you remember to breath.
…fuck…
The Cell processor was co-designed by IBM, Toshiba and Sony. Configurations can differ, but here’s what the PS3’s Cell chip will be like: PowerPC-based Core @ 3.2GHz
7 SPEs @ 3.2GHz
512KB L2 Cache
7 x 256KB SRAM for SPEs
And for the ram
256MB of XDR Main RAM @ 3.2GHz and 256MB of GDDR3 VRAM @ 700MHz, or a total of 512MB for the entire system. The RSX graphics chip can actually use all 512MB of system RAM; it is not limited to the 256MB of GDDR3 RAM.
anyway.
controller is ugly but so are logitech’s wireless controllers and they are super comfortable.
Also do you think they would fuck up the contr. design to affect playability?
I think they will be nice.
system is downright ugly but so is the xbox and the gamecube.
I think this controller looks very similar as far as the button position go, except for the shoulder buttons being further toward the center, and the handles on the PS3 one being a bit longer.
Logitech PS2:
Sony PS3:
That being said, I use the Logitech one, and its awesome. Best PS2 investment I made. Ive got faith in the new controller.
I’m not holding my breath for anything with Sony’s name on it right now.
The fact that it was just a mockup at CES and they did not have anything to show of a working system. It they pull this at TGS or E3 Sony will be in deep shit, especially if they’re claiming a Spring/Summer launch in Japan and a fall launch in the US. And I doubt sony will change the design of the controller… remember, this is Sony and they’re never wrong
Yeah the DS is pretty good. I really hate to doubt Nintendo just based on their history but the Gamecube wasn’t setting the world on fire and I don’t know that the Revolution will either. I could be way off though.
Nintendo never expected/wanted the Gamecube to “set the world on fire”. They are quite happy in 3rd behind Sony and Microsoft. And even after the Godlike PSP was released, the DS still sold better and has better overall games.
Plus, keep in mind which company brought console systems to the mainstream and has been one of the biggest innovators for home gaming…
I over heard from a “sony rep” that they are not required to even have their demo units ready untill oct. I will be suprised if its out before christmas
Gamecube is actually a very powerful little system… just dont understand why developers never used it to it’s full potential. I mean, look at resident evil 4 for example.
but I agree… the revolution looks real cool. I like how the remote is motion sensitive… could make for some pretty cool games (or shitty lol)
Oh no doubt that Gamecube is a powerful system. In fact I have one so I know first hand. But it just seems like gaming has shifted its focus from the very young to the guys like us in our 20’s and 30’s. Hell my father has PS2 and hes in his 50’s. I know for a fact that the youngsters now are playing PS2 and Xbox but it seems like they are going beyond the little kid market that Gamecube is more geared towards. When I bought GTA SA I was waiting in a line and the majority of the people there were kids who should have been playing Mario and talking about saving the Princess. Instead they were talking about doing drivebys and how you can bulk up in the new game to beat people up easier.
Anyway, my point is, it seems that the market has shifted to more adult themed games which leaves a company like Nintendo out of the loop in some regards. I know they have some of the more adult oriented games like RE4 but those are few and far between.
I hope that for the sake of innovation Nintendo succeeds, because they are certainly one of the most unorthodox companies in gaming today.
Nintendo will survive…Everywhere but here nintendo is #1 or #2, only in america is xbox loved by so many people. Nintendo ain’t goin’ anywhere soon guys. Im really excited to see what becomes of their new system too though, they have a habit of making me eat my words when i think they will fail.
Nintendo just used the freakin minidisc. which granted if they had blue ray, would hold enough info. I cant remember which game had 4 discs. Although back in the day. Final Fantasty 9 had 4 5 inch discs…
The gamecube in my opinoin had better graphics than PS2. If they came out with more adult oriented games it would have been an awsome system. But then again, the Mario games are pretty damn fun and if you have younger siblings or children its a nice inexpensive system to have.
Not an opinion. Gamecube is a more powerful. Of course it all depends on the games you compare. GT4 is one of the most amazing looking PS2 games I’ve seen.
is there some sort of problem with “mini discs”
Ok so some games are on multiple disks so effen what?
It was an attempt at curbing piracy and shocker…it worked.
The discs are small enough in size to allow for the consoles compact dimensions and minimal load times, while building in a layer of counterfeit protection that isn’t available on standard DVD.
:word: do you relize how much nintendo saved because people wernt stealing the games. I think nintendo is a great system for the young crowd if i had a kid they would be getting one fuck what there friends have. Besides im sick of dealing with 8yo kids when im trying to play halo WTF remember when Mortal Kombat came out parents freaked cuz there kids got there hands on the game and thought they were gonna run around ripping peoples spines out. I wish parents took more of a stand in what there kids play, leave adult games to adults.
