PSP Homebrew/emulator questions.

I have had my PSP for a long time now and I am bored with the current gen games and their re-hashed home console stuff they are drumming out (with a few exceptions of course). So I have decided to take the re-hash thing to the next level and start emulating. I am not as worried about bricking the damned thing anymore, so I wanna put some psx games on there, then maybe some older consoles and such. I also hear you can even put DS games on it…if so, I can’t wait to try the new Castlevania game.

Either way I am doing it, as I already know I do not have a TA-082 PSP, so I can change the firmware fairly easy. I also have some good reading material and tutorials that I am going through now, before I touch anything.

The real question…Has anybody had any experience with running emulators on the PSP? I just am looking for a pointer or two, and see exactly how many compatability issues there may be. Thanks guys!

I just got a PSP last week, had the firmware already flashed though.

BUT I did install a game boy advance emulator and the roms play very good…ran at fully speed with no quirks, was playing mario 3 and some of the new Pokemon titles and they run good.

There are N64 emulators for it but the games dont run that well yet.

haven’t heard anything about DS emulators, the whole split screen thing would be odd.

It emulates PS1 games and alot of the older systems well.

I was able to get emulators to work on mine, however I did ALOT of research. I used 1.5 with a hack so never games thought it was updated firmware, I sold it awhile ago though so I don’t even recall what I did to get it to work.

All I know is it took alot to get everything working proper.
