Pushed cavy outside today, washed it, took some pics

Just had to get the car cleaned up (two years of garage junk were piled up), so I rolled it out of the garage, washed it up and took a few pics. It still needs areally good detailing, and a few new black checkers, but Ill hold of on that until its actually running :stuck_out_tongue:

Dan

that car is awesome!

looks nice, ur daughter is like ā€œi have never seen that car moveā€, get that POS out of my way so i can ride my bike.

Not a huge fan of the paint but looks clean.

i love the paint jobā€¦ nice design

I want to say ā€¦ its just a cavy, but its not its awesome

More like: ā€œdad whats with all the oil on the ground?ā€

The only cavy Iā€™ll ever like.

lmao, pretty much.

Shes only three and a half, so def doesnt remember seeing it move.

After Iput it back in the garage, she says ā€œwhy did you have to put it back in hereā€ hah

Dan

I was hoping to see some more exterior shots

I like the paint scheme. Itā€™s different.

I really wish you started with a different platform. However, your attention to detail is impeccable and the car looks really sweet. I never thought a turd could ever be polished so nicelyā€¦

Looks very nice, except the rims and taillights look very outdated =(

Thanks guys. The paint scheme is actually copied from a Vauxhaul super touring car, which was red/white/red with silver checkers.

The tail lights are stock, just taped up and painted. I guess it beats having an entire section of red reflectors. :shrugs: Not sure what else I could doā€¦ maybee black them all out? That could work, I may toss that idea around when I go to the new trunklid this winterā€¦

Also the wheels I bought in 1997, so ya, they are VERY out of date. Im probably going to replace them with some black rota slips. Its pretty much at the bottom of my list since these work still.

And for the record I wish I had started with a different platform too. However, by the time I figured that out I was too deep into this and now I just need to see it through.

Dan

An odd platform with top-notch work.

Ever think about using a darker dash material color? It looks like that blue can throw up a good amount of glare on the windshield while youā€™re driving in the sunā€¦

What do you have under the hood? You said itā€™s not running so I was just curious whatā€™s going on with that. Again, you definitly do very clean work.

Check his build thread. Its QUITE impressive.

I had that blue on there before, since like 1998, and never had a problem during the day. So I dono, if it becomes a problem its easy enough to change.

Dan

I donā€™t like the car.
I donā€™t like the paint.

But god damn, you do some good work.

Is that the cabrio you spent soo much time doing the suspension? just sitting there unplated?

Yep, it is. I need to get back to that this fall/winter. Im redoing the WHOLE car, the suspension was just the first thing, since I sorta thought weā€™d try to drive it some as it was, but it just didnt work out.

Im sure Ill start posting some progress on that come november.
