Q for those who DON'T do all their own work

yeah, I’m definitely afraid of it, because I don’t want to.

By your logic, if you don’t want to suck a guy’s dick for 20 minutes, you must be afraid of it and a pussy.

I change my oil and do all of my own work more for the fact that I enjoy it over and fiscal savings.

Regardless of whether you are afraid, or just plain don’t want to, you are still a pussy.

Also, the statements I am making here about people not doing their own oil changes are my opinions, not really much logic involved. Furthermore, my opinion applies to working on cars, not to sucking dick.

If $6 is a factor to you in this argument, you’re poor.
If I liked doing work that high school kids make $8 an hour to do, I’d do it myself. I don’t. I pay someone 10 bucks an hour to pick up dog shit for me too. Does that make me a pussy?

It’s not about the money.

I’d rather drive 10 minutes out of my way than to sit in a traffic jam for 10 minutes.

I’d rather spend 20 minutes wrenching to change my own oil than sit in some shitty garage 20 minutes waiting for someone else to do it.

I’d rather be doing something than be sitting twiddling my thumbs.

Yeah, it does. All of it. Hell, my girlfriend will even walk around and pick up dog poop in the yard.

Fuck that i will gladly pay people to do shit I do not want to if it is not a large amount of $$$.

Speaking of picking up dog shit… have to find/bump that thread and see if any nyspeeders are doing it this year. That’s a shitty job I’ll gladly pay someone to do.

Offer stands. I’ll give her $10 an hour to do so while i’m at work making $35 and making fun of you on nyspeed. At the end of the day, I’ll smell like acqua di gio, and she’ll smell like acqua di dogshit. Well worth it.

And Jay, wouldn’t you rather be picking up the shit yourself when you’re twiddling your thumbs? That’s doing something

haha, that is hardly what I meant. There is no reason why I would go to anyone else’s house and clean up dog shit for money. I don’t need the money nor do I enjoy scooping poop.

I do it at my house because it is a small amount, and I don’t mind the chore. I like being outside and it’s easy enough to just use the pooper scooper with 1 hand.

Same with an oil change. I do it on my cars, but you won’t see me out changing my neighbor’s oil.

Also, I do mind paying extra for things that I could do myself. If you spent some time adding up how much you spend for people to do small tasks you would realize that it might account for 500-1000/year. Act like it’s chump change if you want, but I would rather just put in an extra hour of chores here and there in exchange for a big box of car parts or tickets to go on a cruise or something.

It’s all a matter of personal preference. At the end of the year, I’d rather have spent the 50-100 hours doing stuff I like than have the money. For you, it’s the opposite. Doesn’t make anyone a pussy.

In my opinion it does, argue it all you want though, I am a stubborn bastard. You shouldn’t really care what I think anyways.

ah well, it makes you cheap and poor. we’re even. Good talk.

Ok so I challenge you to a fist fight right now if not you are a PUSSY.
I also think everyone should run 40+ miles a week and if not you are a PUSSY.
Blah Blah Blah

whoa, different opinions? On the internet? HOLY CRAP!!

blah blah blah is right man

edit: I seriously am very cheap

Yea I am just being an ass. I go super cheap on spurts…typically about ratio of 1 week cheap to every 10 weeks I spend however I feel like. :picard:

i can do a lot of stuff, but for example- when my new to mw vw had a charging issue, i went and bought an alt, and swapped it with (what i assumed to be) a bad one with beast, it took us like 1.5 hr.

now, when the alt was replaced, and the issue was actually something else, thats when i sent it over to big daddy burch

I do almost all my own work but I don’t do brake lines and fuel lines. It will be going somewhere to have that done.

My wife’s SUV goes to the dealer just because it’s under warranty. The only work on the IS300 I’ve had done @ the dealer was recall stuff. The Cobra only has 3k miles so hasn’t required any work yet but has an extended warranty so if something breaks it’ll go to Ford.
