first video is an old repost…

http://www.pittspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10684

The first vid of the lifted f-350 actually has the same 1996 12v 215 p7100 pump that I have … just HIGHLY modded …

The last vid of the ats diesel drag is also a cummins motor … I can’t remember if they used a 12v or a 24v … I know cummins did thiers with the 12v … I can’t recall what ats used

Nice vids tho …

This dragster is powered by twin turbo, 24 valve, P7100 mechanical fuel pump, 5.9 liter Cummins Diesel engine. Same basic engine as a Dodge Ram truck. This is a pure stock short block with 35,000 street miles! We are just out there trying to see how fast and quick we can go.

The engine has two stage ATS Diesel Performance turbos providing the boost. It can build over 100 pounds of boost. The pump and injectors we are using now are built by John Russin of Buddha Power.

The transmission is a ATS Diesel Performance custom 47RE Dodge 4 speed overdrive, lock up 5 Star Viskus Converter Drive, with a electronic transmission brake. We have made many full throttle launches with this with no breakage. The lock up converter is bulletproof.

so where is the stuff that you use to “built” these motors? I would REALLY like to get into that stuff!

Actually … since it is the 24 valve motor, with the p7100 bosch machanical pump … then it isn’t the same basic engine in the trucks. The 24 valves come with the vp-44 electric pump … which is good … but junk once you start throwing power at it. The lift pump will die very quickly. The 215 based p7100 pump is what I use … IT is a MAJOR task to put a p7100 on a 24 valve.

I’d never buy/own a diesel. Smells horribly, Loud noise, poop MPG.

/ Diesel :kekegay: Unless i’m gonna attempt to cross the Ohio river with a snorkle :kekegay:

Jetta tdi gets rpetty good MPG

…the whole reason I love it  :blue:

you can have it :boink

You MIGHT want to do your homework on these motors before you go and talk shit on them.

smells … not that bad …
Loud noise? … Not all of them. Mine is loud … very loud … My dads WAS quite … but now is very loud. But still …

as far as your “poop MPG” goes … NEVER …

I have OVER 400 horsepower … and I still get 18-21mpg … you take do that in a 4 cyl … 6 cyl … or a 8 cyl with that power range

I have no hassle of getting gas, Unlike filling up with diesel at truck stops

GAS > diesel :boink

when you can prove other wise, film it and I’ll believe it…

:dunno: I have no hassle getting fuel … Alot of “gas” stations carry it … not just truck stops

try goin on long trips and getting no hassle

PITTSBURGH POWER http://www.dieselinjection.net/frames.html

Banks is a fucking joke … Gale Banks is all hype … You PAY for his name … and you WONT get the power that he claims. That has been proven time and time again on a dyno.

Bully Dog has some very nice mild fueling boxes. I put the bully dog power pup in my dads 3g along with 5" turbo back, AFE Intake, and a FASS Race Pump

ATS … Makes great auto trannys … But I would rather go with DTT(If I had an automatic)

BD Power is good … a little on the pricey side for what you get

Pittsburgh Power … Decent
