quick questions

im moving some stuff around on my laptop and i just noticed that the hotkeys arent working… like function f3 would normally mute my volume… but its not working anymore… i restarted and still nothing… any idea how to restore it… btw computer is a sony vaio pcg-frv25

http://forums.dealnews.com/read.php?2,1936251,1936280,report=1 i read that and i dont have the recovery cd… any ideas?

If I remember correctly some Vaio’s have a hotkey utility that needs to be run. If it’s less than 3 years old it wouldn’t have recovery CDs it’s all on the hard-drive

Usually you can reinstall it by going to

Start -> Vaio Utilities -> Vaio Recovery

There should be an option for application recovery there,if I remember but it’s been over a year since I’ve done anything with those

If you go to esupport.sony.com, search for article C383968 it has some information that might help.

Sony does need the hotkey software for the volume… you may be able to download the utility… or call sony and they will rape you for them.
