R33 gtr vspec brakes trade for evo 9 brakes worth it

Is this good striaght trade. R33 gtr vspec brembo with oem pads,ams 2 piece rotor with low km for evo 9 brake setup with oem pads and rotors. Rebuilt and powder coated blue.

Im doing this trade so i can loose the adapter which = less spacer so better wheel fitment. Car is daily but might see 1 or 2 track days. Is it worth the straight trade?

wait what do you have and what do you want to get?

Obviously evo 9 is newer… although it doesn’t really matter since both are pretty old cars now.

Personally if it works… why break it (no pun intended lol).

Yea evo 9 requires a bracket= forcing my wheel to stick out more out but the r33 one mounts to spindle so i no need for big spacers… Currently have evo 9’s but going to trade for the R33 vspecs with ams 2piece rotors and new pads+lines

way u worded in original post, looked like u wanted to trade r33’s for evo9’s.

I think its easier just to get a more aggresive or less aggresive wheel than have to swap out brakes.

Either way for street car, both sets are brakes are as good as it gets.

i wouldn’t trade for older brake calipers giving my new calipers… just to switch wheel offset by a few milimeters… seriously… roll your fenders a lil more and be done with it… all the hassle of swaping brakes and getting older calipers for fitment wth?! lol :slight_smile:

The R33 requires you drilling out your spindle to accommodate the larger bolt for the caliper. I chose the evo setup because I could revert at anytime to stock. Yes you could helicoil it but not worth it imo.

It is straight bolt on… Just a larger bolt lol. If you have a tap and die set available it’d take you like 5 mins per wheel.

But the Evo 9 brakes are bigger caliper pistons = better. So if you are Form > Function, change to R33. If you are Function > Form, Evo 9.

^^ then it is not straight bolt on if you’re drilling and tapping, is it. Don’t confuse the GTS-t brakes with the GTR brembos which need to be drilled.

Im going to stick with evo and work around it.

Fyi, there is a sale on oem brembo pads at abt 50% off from an ebay seller.I bought some. so 120 usd.

Thanks zac but my my oem rotors and pad have about 2km on them. I want 2 piece rotors for looks but there so expensive

They are. I’ve been hanging around evo-m for a used set for some time. Giro-disc or racing brake but still 350-500 used.
