trying to come up with some artwork for our bands demo.
Layout will be as such:
there will be a square paper insert with a clear “overhead projector transparency sheet” of the same size over the top of it. Basically, the paper will be the background, and the transparency will be the foreground. The foreground can only be black and clear. The background can be full color, but one color would be better (allowing us to screenprint them)
Anyone have any cool ideas or images that i could fuck with in photoshop?
hmmm… tool did something like this with the lateralus disc, they went the classic “medical book” route and did a weird cutaway of a guy. that was full color though. might be interesting to do that with a venue, a practice spot, or just some odd machine. cutaway a bandmember
you could do a “censored” thing with parts of the face (and/or body) covered by black bars and have it “reveal” the band members faces, or have it cover their junk and reveal them holding shit like bananas and walnuts and actual twigs and berries.
hate buffalo? how bout a before/after nuclear halocaust scene? be fun to draw up, that’s for sure. or giambra in the crosshairs?
do an “official” report on a slaying/mutation/alien incident, censor the text - might make people take a second look at the CD just to read it.
get a big shot of some great tits and just put a black bar on it. put your band’s logo on a tit under the bar. shit, that one always works.
put a subaru sti on it with black smoke coming out of the engine
