Rally New York April 4-5, 2008

I’ve been going to this event for years now. always a good time, and its good to support rallying this close to home.

Rally HQ is in Ellenville, NY this year, the racing will happen in the surrounding counties.

Theres alot of info there, and it can get overwhelming but with those 3 links you should be able to plan your day.

I will be down there Saturday,
-at the spectator area #5 in Neversink 9am-11am
-at the service area in Warwarsing 11:45am-12:30pm
-at the spectator area #3 in Warwarsing 12:45pm-3:30pm (get there before 1 because the road closes)
-at the spectator area #4 in Neversink 4:30pm-6pm

keep in mind the distance between the Warwarsing and Neversink areas is about 45 minutes driving time. When you arrive at the spectator area, usually people park along the road in, if you have time turn your truck around when you arrive so its easy to leave

Damn, I’m working both days, if it was a little bit closer I could have driven out there and gotten back in time to work.

This is in my neck of the woods. It definitely is exciting to watch.

had a great time down at the Rally on Saturday. the Ken Block factory subaru team kicked ass, it was obvious he was pushing alot harder than the other front runners. It was a super nice day out , I didnt get as many good pics as usual since I didnt have a press pass again this time. :headbang

Any comments about the event? Anything unusual happen?

You talk to any of the Subaru team members? I actually interviewed one of them recently.

I didnt talk to them. When I was at service was right as the cars were coming in for their long repair stop so the teams were rushing around. I’ve learned to stay out of the way in pit areas after almost getting hit by a race car at the Rolex 24 a couple years ago :lol

Nothing unusual race wise, at one spectator area a deer came running out of the woods and ran straight through a crowd of about 150 people :wtf
