I think its more the fact that they don’t like drifting when it counts for something, they only like it when it is subjectively judged.
Actually stages are being run all day on friday. It’s just the fact that people have jobs. Only part about going on saturday is that 1/3 of the field will have wrecked out on the day 1 stages.
The stages on friday are located closer to Monticello where as the ones saturday are around Walton, NY.
Just to be clear this is an all tarmac rally, in september (I think) they are running an all gravel rally.
Went in Fall 07 as a Course Marshal. Always wanted to go back, but haven’t had the time. BTW if you’re interested in marshaling call them up they’re always desperate for volunteers. You can work in the pits if you’re lucky!
Email: Eurorally@aol.com if you want to marshal. don’t know if they still are looking for people.
Weather was awesome, course marshals were very courteous and lots of good viewing areas…actually all those statements are bullshit. Apparently the locals weren’t really excited about the rally so they only had 1 spectator area in the afternoon and the marshals were being dicks about watching from any place else. The pictures are as good as I could do from the limited space I had to stand.
