1.) Large enough that you don’t have to worry about draining the oil and not hitting the pan.
2.) Small enough opening that the drain plug won’t fall into it and you have to fish around in old oil to find it.
3.) It’s enclosed and has a small funnel cap so you can pour your old oil into the empty oil quarts without spillage.
It just makes your oil changes that much easier and CLEANER.
All of my cars that have push in pistons actually have specific tools dedicated to that purpose… (my hyundai/m3/audi all had specific manufacturer tools and the procedure was in the manual)
If not, take a breaker bar and slip a 3 foot piece of pipe on it for extra leverage. That’s a cheater bar. It’s what those of us too cheap to buy air tools use to remove stubborn bolts.
I use them all the time in the garage, because laying on concrete is not comfortable. Also jumping up and down to grab tools from a concrete surface can suck less with some cushion.
i have a nice cheater bar that i use… i got lucky and found a pipe with the ID the same as the OD of another… so i have a nice slip stype that i can use to gain as much leverage or clearance as i need…
just lubed it up with a little anti seize compound and voila
Haha my friends always ask me why the hell I have futniture cushions in my garage.
