:tspry: to someone being an intellectual contributory on the brink death and still being inspirational and what not.
he contributed a lot to Carnegie Mellon. good guy. great mind
I just watched that the other day, really really good. It’s not the same old “Do something with your life” type of bullshit “inspirational” lecture.
Jack, did you seriously link a clip from fucking OPRAH…
Bump, because I can’t sleep and I get philosophical when I can’t sleep.
Do yourself a favor and set aside an hour and seventeen minutes for this:
Cliffs: Popular exercise amongst professors is to give a “last lecture”. This dude has a wife and kids and terminal cancer and is a great professor, so here’s his legit last lecture.
^ He already died quite a while ago. Fantastic “lecture” though.
Yeah he died in mid 2008 I think.
It was fantastic.
I watched the full video after I saw him on oprah.
Yea, I saw him on oprah when it aired.
fuck you.
he died right around the same time as my mom. I recommend reading the book then watching the video, as there’s a lot more insight in the text. normally not my cup of tea, but it’s that good. esp if you’re dealing with loss.
I forgot about this. I didn’t forget the message though.
