Rebate Plan

Here’s the bill, show me where it says this

Edit:

So when will I get a check?

Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said Thursday night that the IRS will start sending out checks in early May. Last month, he said it should take about 10 weeks to crank out all the checks. In all likelihood then, you’ll see the money sometime between May and early July.

That assumes, of course, that you hit the IRS deadline and file by April 15.

If you’re a laggard and have to file for an extension, you’ll still get a check but it may not come until the end of the year - probably in time for Christmas shopping. To top of page

Or

If this is true, I’m looking at the week of Sept. 10

well from what i was just told, (called a couple people) is that theyre going to use the same method that was used to mail out the rebate checks back in 2001, which, was the same method as i posted… all i know is i got this at work and normally they dont send messages out like this unless theyre verified first…

as i said, if its not, then so be it, if it is, then youll know…:gotme:

Shouldn’t this be posted on some official government website somewhere?

if i am reading that right im not getting a damn dime. I def. made less than $4000 (on the books anyway)…so that means i get nothing???

wait are people actually assuming the government is expecting to get something done on time, FUCK THE US GOVERNMENT, burn your rebate(at the foot of a government building that you just soaked in gasoline), hell i’ll take the 600 bucks, but i’d rather shove it up bush’s ass after lighting it on fire.

I’m glad they casually added 168 billion to the deficit for this, all to aid in the increasing rate of inflations acceleration.

oh and does anyone know if this is based on 2006’s tax filing or 2007’s.

2008

more like put it in an interest bearing account to offset the $800 in increased taxes it will cost you

sweet 600 bucks at the start of august!

It is based on your 2007 return.

$1800 for me!!!

damn dude… wrap that shit up

No it is not.

The rebate is an additional tax credit for 2008, and it will not be taxed.

So it is tied to your 2008 return, when you file(in 2009) they will re-run the calculation and give you more money if they owed it to you. If you end up owing anything - they will forgive it.

So essentially they will guess based on 2007, and really figure it out based on 2008.

They are basing the checks on your 2007 return.
