Anyone know of a place to rebuild Holset turbos locally? HX35 to be exact.
Lol really?
Boxersix.
Lol just throwing it out there. I know he does turbos but I don’t know if there is anything different about a Holset.
is it a 7 or 8 blade wheel?
7 blade
jae g00n do you have any plans for the banana boat this year?
fixed
oh and to remain semi on topic, QFT
Thanks guys,
Holset is one of the few models I use to specialize in and have tooling for all the way up to the HX80’s. Complete turbo overhaul with components and VSR balancing will be $315. I will tear it down prior to ordering the components to determine the condition of the CHRA. Holsets like to eat turbine shafts near the piston ring on the turbine end.
Call when you’re ready. I’ll be able to rebuild come the 1st of april.
Sounds good! I might need the internal wastegate welded shut also. The turbo comes in Monday, I’ll contact you at some point. Thanks.
this is good to know. the holset is an awesome budget build turbo.
Holsets are fantastic turbochargers. The only OEM turbocharger I’ve known to have greater extreme boost durability were the old Rajay’s, but they unfortunately went under(Turbonetics actually bought all remaining NOS and equipment).
Grantid they are diesel turbocharger technology, but there are small a/r turbine housing retro’s to make them suitable for home brewed builds(Bullseye comes to mind)
I didnt think it was possible, but you actually used “NOS” as a business acronym on a car forum.
N new
O old
S stock
I know, I didnt think it was possible to do that here.
ok my bad.a lot of people dont know what that means
inorite!!! Figured I’d see how many people would stray the FnF way… Thanks for ruining the fun :shifty
lolz
Yeah it should be a nice turbo for my motor. Some other guys run them on their RB25’s with great results. It’s going to be a fun year, maybe I’ll actually make it to LVD this year for the 1/4mile :lol
hopefully this time the diff dosnt gernade.
NOS :excited
