Well anyways, what is better buy a new engine for about 2k or have one rebuilt for 5k? I went to Sumaru’s and told Reg that I wanted to rebuild my engine and he just told me to buy a new one. Other than the price, why would he suggest this?
Did he mean new ‘crate’ engine or new used engine?
What kind of Z do you have? If its a Z32, there is no way a new engine is only $2k CDN.
A brand new Z32 long-block has been known to cost in the range of ~ $8000+ if memory serves!
Nah, you can get a TT motor for like $5000
You can get a used TT motor for $4900 plus gst.That is the cheapest I found when lookung for one.Maybe you can find a better deal?

Where the heck are you shopping where you can get a brand NEW VG30 longblock for $5000 (CDN?)??
Well, the price I was giving wasn’t for a BRAND new motor.
Used VG30DETT from Japan.
Bah!.. I’d rather have my existing engine rebuilt. I’m sure you could do a budget plan less than the ~$5k you were quoted.

JDM Source has the imported ones for cheap like 2200 US or something.
