Don’t know if anyone listens to it here but I am looking for some recommendations on who I should check out in the jazz world. I grew up with my grandfather listening to it everyday but I never knew any of the artists he listened too.
Well I’d probably start with some classics: Miles Davis (trumpet), John Coltrane and Charlie Parker (saxophone), Thelonius Monk (bass), and Herbie Hancock (piano) is one of my favorites. For some newer jazz I really like Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and Medeski Martin and Wood. That’s what I can come up with off the top of my head. I’ll post more if I think of them.

Jesus dude.
 this thread
I can’t believe nobody mentioned Dave Brubek yet.
I do use soulseek…
Add me - ProgressiveRocker
P.S. that ratio is nowhere near close. I have uploaded probably 5x that
Duke Ellington is the man.
I was going to suggest the Dave Brubeck Quartet…
I have seen Soulive twice live in concert. If any of you ever get the chance to see them I HIGHLY suggest you do. You will not be disappointed. I’ve been to a lot of concerts and this one might have been the best I’ve been to.
I like Jazz but prefer the blues. John Lee Hooker is the man.
Blues are good. I like Tab Benoit, SRV. And of course the classic bluesmen.
