For $2k and lots of fun on an older bike that you won’t soon get tired of, CBR 600 - for $2k you are prolly looking at an F2 or maybe a tired F3. Good power, but not enough to get stupid with unless you are trying. Oh yeah, there are tons of them out there and parts are plentiful.

Look for an 88, 89, or 90 Ninja 600. Good starter bike, real user frienly plus looks nice. You’ll love it. Was my second bike and i loved it. I started out with a 250 ninja when i was 18 then bought my 89 600 new. Since then I have had 3 gsxr 1100’s and an R1.
